Hi all,
I updated the website of Mathemagix, so that some of the new orientations
of the projects are explained. In brief,
* Because we have so little time, we have started developing
a prototype interpreter. This made it necessary to make several
changes into the language. Nevertheless, our long-term aim remains
to have a compiler.
* More emphasis is put on being able to link extern C and C++ template
libraries at an early stage. So Mathemagix should become a good
extension language too.
The new interpreter starts to be functional and several example programs
are provided in the distribution. There is also an interface with TeXmacs.
Next year, the few weeks I will be able to spend on mathemagix will be
spent on:
* Integration of C++ template libraries.
* Speeding things up a bit.
* Syntatic sugar.
* If I have time: the possibility for the user to define types.
Somewhere during next year, a first useful beta-version should be ready.
Best wishes, Joris
